Hola! I'm María, a design leader specialized in service design, product strategy, and people management

I have been a part of award-winning teams that created digital experiences for global companies like Mailchimp, Microsoft, McKesson, Google, Disney, and Coca-Cola. My expertise extends across logistics, healthcare, marketing automation, and consumer goods, where I've worked with both startups and Fortune 100 companies, and brought B2B and B2C experiences to life.

I’m a trained Service Designer with a background in Product Management and Graphic Design.

My strengths reside in:

  • Seeing patterns and connecting the dots

  • Zooming into details and out to the big picture

  • Building bridges between internal teams, clients and their customers, and all sorts of stakeholders and systems

  • Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining design talent

I lead a senior specialized team through the full design lifecycle

I currently serve as Director of Design at Digital Scientists, a software design and development consultancy that specializes in designing and building custom B2B and B2C software solutions for companies in healthcare, logistics, and marketing automation. We serve a broad spectrum of clients, from nimble startups to Fortune 100 companies. Our clients include Mailchimp, Cox2M, and McKesson.

We’ve designed experiences for a broad range of populations. From prototypes and MVPs to UX consulting and workshop facilitation, my team of specialized designers can tackle highly complex design projects.

I believe in the power of a community of practice

Growing it, nurturing it, contributing to it.

There’s something wonderful about people coming together to create spaces where learning and sharing are at the core. I am active in different communities and seek them out wherever I go.

Outside of work, you can find me speaking at local events and international conferences, mentoring young designers, planning events for the Atlanta Service Design Network chapter, visiting universities to mentor students and judge final projects, volunteering in global events like the Global Service Jam, and being a mentor at ADPlist.

I am currently the President for the Atlanta Service Design Network chapter, where I establish the vision for the chapter’s initiatives, lead marketing efforts for all chapter events, plan activities, and co-host our monthly events.

Catch me speaking at these upcoming events
